Important CBD oil and Epilepsy studies have been assembled here. You will find this to be an excellent summation of various clinical trials and research conducted on CBD oil dosage for epilepsy. There are also safety studies on CBD for seizures in infants and toddlers. The children in the studies were from 6 months to 17 years of age. Most of the patients in the studies had genetically-based and hard to treat Epilepsy.
You may already know that LGS, DS, and WS are so often resistant to common treatments like anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs). This is a composite of studies that were all conducted on CBD oil for seizures in infants, children, and teenagers. Children in the studies were mainly affected by Epilepsy that is inherited and resistant to most anti-epileptic drugs. It concluded that to date, there are no adverse events that cannot be managed by adjusting the CBD oil dosage for epilepsy and that CBD is considered safe as a treatment. Often interactions of medications can make it difficult to see what is truly effective in treating Epilepsy.
CBD isolate has been used a primary ingredient in an Epilepsy drug, but CBD in it’s isolated form may not be as effective as it could be if utilized beside other cannabinoids and terpenes. There are additional studies being conducted on some of the more rare cannabinoids and their impact with respect to fighting seizures. It is not fully known how CBD and seizure medications completely interact. There are people who have removed themselves from AEDs and are self-treating their Epilepsy with Full Spectrum CBD Oil. The results of the listed studies encourage the use of CBD oil for seizures alongside existing AEDs.
